We are looking forward to welcoming students back to school on Thursday 4th September and starting the new academic year with energy and enthusiasm.
As always, we want every student to thrive and achieve their best. A key part of this is excellent attendance. Research shows that even small amounts of absence can have a big impact on learning, confidence and progress.
This year we are placing a strong focus on ensuring that every student’s attendance is at 96% or above.
We kindly ask your support in:
- Ensuring your child attends everyday, on time, unless genuinely unwell. Absences should be reported using the Studybugs App.
- Contacting us promptly if there are any issues that might affect your child’s attendance, so we can help.
Together, we can make sure every student has the best possible start and keeps momentum throughout the year. We are excited to work with you to ensure your child has a happy, successful year at school.
If you haven’t signed up to Studybugs, please do so before Students returns to school.
There are several reasons why we are moving to this system:
1) parents can report absence directly via the app or the widget on the school website, reducing phone calls and miscommunication.
2) Information comes through instantly, so staff have a clear picture of who is in school – this adds an extra layer of rigour to our Safeguarding procedures.
3) Attendance Officers, Tutors and Pastoral staff an focus on supporting students rather than processing absences.
4) Immediate notifications help us spot potential concerns faster.
5) records are stored securely and consistently, reducing the chance of anything being missed.
6) Parents can report absence quickly on using the app
No need to wait in phone queues or leave voicemails.
If you have any questions about Studybugs please contact me.
Thank you for your continued support.
