Exams
All students will receive personal entry statements with details of their exams.
Any enquiries about examinations or results should be made to the school examination officer by email to examofficer@fxs.org.uk or by telephoning the school.
Exam Times
Morning exams start at 9am, and afternoon exams start at 1pm.
All exams start promptly at these times, regardless of the room or location.
Subject booster sessions are usually held in the main building beforehand. Students should attend their published booster session before going directly to their exam location in good time for the start of the exam.
Late Arrival
If a student is running late for an exam, they should go directly to the exam location. If not in school and delayed, please call the school to let us know.
Absence
As is usual for any school absence, we ask that you email attendance@fxs.org.uk or telephone the school on 01394 288 122 to report your child’s absence. If a student is missing from an exam, we will first check with our attendance team to see if the absence has been reported.
If we have not been notified of an absence, we will contact you to check that your child is on their way.
If any exam is missed, we will also contact you for further information about the absence to report to the exam board.
Equipment for Exams
Equipment is provided in exam halls, but students are often more confident when bringing their own equipment. This should be in a clear pencil case. Watches, phones, MP3 players, AirPods, and similar are not allowed in the exam halls. Hoodies and coats are not allowed to be worn. Students may bring a drink with them in a clear plastic bottle, but this should be free from packaging and drink containers should have labels removed.

Further Information
Certificate Collection
Certificates for the summer series of exams are generally delivered to the school in November. Please see here for details relating to the arrangements for the collection of results
Replacement Certificates/Past Results
Please note Centres may destroy any unclaimed certificates by a secure method (for example, by shredding or incineration) after holding them for a period of 12 months from the date of issue. Therefore, after this time, if you need an official record of your past exam results, you should contact the relevant exam boards.
There are five main exam boards in England, Wales and Northern Ireland – AQA, CCEA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. You can contact them directly for your BTEC, CSE, GCSE and A Level result. These exam boards also hold results for defunct exam boards.
For all other enquiries, please contact the Exams Officer via examofficer@fxs.org.uk
